Terms & Conditions

Founders Fest: Tech Edition — WHAT THE TECH · Effective Date: July 2, 2026

1. Eligibility

  • WHAT THE TECH is open to currently enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate students only.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration.
  • Each participant may register individually or as part of a team of 2–5 members.
  • All team members must complete their own registration and profile before the team is considered eligible.
  • Organizers reserve the right to verify student status at any point before or during the event.

2. Registration

  • Registration is confirmed only upon successful payment.
  • Individual registration fee: ₹299 per person.
  • Team registration fee: ₹1,299 flat for a 5-member team.
  • Each participant must submit accurate and complete information during registration. Providing false information may result in disqualification.
  • One registered email address cannot be used for multiple registrations.

3. Payments & Refunds

  • All payments are processed securely via Razorpay.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to: personal scheduling conflicts, travel issues, or team dissolution.
  • In the event the organizers cancel or postpone the event, registered participants will be notified and a decision on refunds will be communicated accordingly.
  • Partial refunds will not be issued for team registrations where one or more members are unable to attend.

4. Code of Conduct

  • All participants are expected to maintain respectful and professional behavior throughout the event.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or any form of misconduct toward fellow participants, organizers, mentors, or judges will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the venue.
  • Participants must not engage in plagiarism, cheating, or submitting work that was not built during the hackathon window.
  • Use of pre-built projects or recycled codebases as hackathon submissions is strictly prohibited.
  • Participants must comply with all venue rules at BITS Pilani Hyderabad, Google for Startups, and T-Hub/T-Works.

5. Intellectual Property

Participants retain ownership of the projects they build during the hackathon.

By participating, teams grant Founders Fest: Tech Edition the right to feature their project, name, and photos in post-event coverage, social media, and promotional material.

6. Disqualification

Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant or team for:

  • Providing false registration information
  • Violating the code of conduct
  • Submitting work not built during the event
  • Any behavior deemed harmful to the event or its participants

7. Changes to Terms

Organizers reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Registered participants will be notified of material changes via their registered email.
